Re: Physical copies or Digital downloads?
I just got my Vita so maybe I'll change my mind in a few days or weeks but until now I prefer getting physical copies for several reasons:
FIrst: Ebay! I can get a game for like half the price of a new on and I can sell it again if I'm getting tired of it.
Second: Carry as many as you want! I got myself one of those overpriced 16gb Memory Cards so I've got a lot of storage.. but it is still nice to know that I can buy a game and just use it without having to download it first.
Still.. I'm thinking about getting a PS+ membership but I'm still trying to figure out if it is really worth it.

I don't have a single physical game. In my country the game taxes are way too high, so I can buy a MGS Collection digital for $35 bucks or get a physical one that costs around $60, $65 bucks. The memory units aren't cheaper. I've bought a 16gb (there isn't a single place that solds the 32gb in my city) for $110 bucks, and belive me, that was the lowest price that I've found on internet. Sometimes (almost all the times) I really hate living on Brazil. Overpriced tecnologies and bad infraestructure.. nice =/
Do or do not. There's no try.

Physical, because the gamecards of the vita are steadier than any discs you normally would use for your PC/Console
And they often are way cheaper than a digital copy.
For your console, it depends if the game has any install function. If it doesn't and the game has to load alot of times, pick a digital copy.

Physical copy/ no need to waste memory on downloading a 3.5GB size game.

Re: Physical copies or Digital downloads?
I say half and half. A physical copy is good in all but its nice to have a digital copy for just in case. Carts are easy to lose where as the memory card never leaves the unit. Honestly, with the way the system is set up now (with manuals being on the card and the games being the size of SD cards), having physical copy is rather pointless unless you just want to have the option of being able to sell the game later. Some ppl also like to have a physical copy for novelty sake, just to be able to see the library they have in their room. Other than that, there is no benefit to having a physical copy over a digital copy. But there are benefits to having digital. Digital copies you can back up on a laptop or your PS3, if you have one. (really wish Content Manager was on more devices or that someone made a means of hooking the vita up to a usb storage device. (because, heck, I got a .5" usb stick that only costed me 15$ that is 32GB). But sticking 100% physical you will miss the download only titles that I am sure are on the horizon in the near future. But to eaches own.

I will go with physical.
I am not that much of a collector but I love displaying my PS FF8 CD case and such.
