Im going to call it now and say yoututbe is going to require 1.69
(mhee I watch youtube on my Xbox anyway :/)

I'm with you on Youtube being 1.69, s0ny always has that "you want the carrot ? Well first you gotta take the stick" approach.

Almost like a mom who will only allow her child play his/her vita, if he eats all of her bland shitty over cooked vegetables, clears the table/washes the dishes, takes out the trash, while she sits on her fat ass smoking a cigarette that she used the kids pocket money to buy.

Meta Critic lends substance to Gravity Rush actually being worth time. So let me call the vatican, we may just have another divine miracle on our hands.

okay... played gravity rush for 2 hours now... if your on the fence, most def get rush.... unless your straight forward metal gear fan... It is very open world with optional missions, charcter upgrades... hell it seems to have the works, and I'm not saying that because its a new title.... I get dissapointed in games very easily any more.. def diffrent, and thats what I wanted the vita for.... also the trophy list shows 3 dlc packs right of the bat. That may throw some people off, but with what I can tell, there is enough sustinance to warrent optional buys. Pstore dosn't update for another 7 hours, so of course I can't say if its same day dlc or not... I CAN say I had fun shifting gravity and flinging people upwards with me and watching them fall, or slaming them in walls.. you don't have control of people like you do objects, but they are effected as well.... don't think less of me... how many people killed hours driving on the sidewalks in gta? Its good for kids too; save some ants! Time for bed for me.

had to add this: No firmware update!

I'd say Gravity Rush, though I'd also state to hold off. It's a game that's been out over 6 months with the same price tag of 40$ but with a name change in-which, also makes no sense.
Gravity Rush??? More like a Gravity Daze and I'm not fooled by this bad business practice seeing how the Vita is barely selling in Japan so the wait is a scam altogether for both the system and this game. These companies need to be held accountable NOW, before they start blaming piracy again. The game's worth 30$ tops, it's how the market is suppose to go, simple economics, the older a product is the less the value of said product is(this is video games, a market that advances daily). Changing the name and halting it's release for over half a year to sell it at the same price is a scam, that's Apple Store app quality now...

It's a shame, this game seems pretty fun, though the English demo is still in JAP 6 months later(voices)....so I imagine the retail game is the same which is unexceptable & further invalidates it's halted release.

Heh... You make a very good point about the delay... it was suppose to be a release title here in the us... I even picked up the display case at my local gamestop with the date printed on it trying to purchase it :-) I don't see anything wron with the vocals though... more often than not, overseas games retain the orginal language for a sence of authinticity and wonderment. (how many dubbed movies fare well here ) They make a terrible move on the digital version ... For 35 you get the game AND the Military DLC... that wouldn't be so bad except that they are not offering the add-on content any other way at this time.... trying to put stores out of business... resell stores anyway, either that or they are trying to really push those $100 32gb memory cards.... I own one.... I'm planning on keeping it that way unless I run what I WANT on them. I'm off subject, almost bedtime again... Its the same as the cod boycott... The game is going to make tons of money and the only thing you will do by choosing not to purchase it in this reguard is to forfit one of the best experiences on the vita... vitas are not hacked yet and if you own one I assume you want the best portable games out there.

Just grabbed GR and had a run through. Very polished.

Sony n00bed the psn update tho', 3 hours late with no clear explanation or ETA. PSblog Threads filling up with hate. Typical Sony, unable to connect with their customers on a grass roots level, even on their own blog, literally snobbing their own customers. Lulz.

Been thinking tho', cell shading really works well on the Vita. UMVC, Gravity Daze, both really benefit from cell shading and it will be encouraging to see future games that adopt that approach. It works well.

You make some great points. I never thought in detail about the 6 month difference in that way. I don't know much about the inner workings of the video game industry but it does some like there was no localizing for the US with the exception of a name change.

I ended up choosing Gravity Rush. One reviewer comparing it to Pilot Wings really excited me. Overall the game seems very fun and unique but I am only a hour or two into it so far. How is everyone else enjoying it?

Here is what I think about MGS HD.
(I know this is a Vita forum, but I'll use both the PS3 and Vita versions to make my point)
For the PS3 you get 3 games for about 40 $/€, breaking it down, this is the price for each game (considering they are all new):
- Peace Walker > 20$/€: It's the same price as the psp version
- Sons of Liberty > 10$/€: the same price as the ps2 version
- Snake Eater > 10$/€: again, the same price as the ps2 version
Now take in consideration these games have been ported and remastered in HD (specially peace walker), so your paying the same money as the normal version, for the HD version. Thats a pretty good deal IMO.
For the Vita version you pay a bit more: 15$/€ for each game. Which is still a good deal considering you'll be playing it on the go, in HD.
Looking at what Norml said about Gravity Rush's price tag, and comparing it with MGS HD, I'd say you get a better deal with MGS.

I'd go Gravity Rush. I picked it up on launch day. It has fantastic art design. I find myself constantly noticing interesting features they implemented in the design. The gameplay is also quite interesting. Just a disclaimer, the controls can be a little frustrating at times, it's not too big a deal though.

As for MGS, I'd buy it on the PS3. It's a much better deal. If you don't have that option well I'd still recommend Gravity Rush over MGS. MGS2 and 3 aren't nearly as awesome as MGS1 :)

Thanks guys for clearing this up.

Im leaning towards Gravity Rush because of all of the positive responses here. BUT, It seems like the actual gameplay is much shorter when compared to MG. Are the VR missions in the MG game like the VR Missions game that was made for the PS1 many years ago?

Also, after you beat Gravity Rush is there more to do?

Thanks!

VR Missions

Yes, it has VR missions as well as the original MSX games (so basically you have 5 games in one, 4 on the vita)
MGS2 and 3 aren't nearly as awesome as MGS1

That's your opinion (I'm not saying it's true or false).
