Quick PSTV Question

I just bought a PSTV that's on version 3.20, and just installed the whitelist. I will have access to a PS3 this Sunday - would it be possible to install a custom ARK bubble and then update to 3.55? I mostly bought it for remote play, so it needs to be on the latest FW, but Id love to have ARK as well.
