Would my nuclear fallout shelter put me off the map?JJS wrote:Also: The position data is gained by triangulating the cell tower locations. So turning off GPS will not prevent the data acquisition.

Personally, I think that there should be something in place to prevent data mining and other stuff that doesn't help you keep a steady cell signal, work with an app., find your way home, etc. Also, why has Apple refused to comment?

@Askidwai (Sorry if I wrote it wrong) Anonymous is an internet term. Most people posting on 4chan are using the Anonymous option, and most memes came from them.

wasn't it ruled legal to hack your smartphones? and if they brick it remotely, they'll be the ones breaking the lawStrangelove wrote: Apple detects you are using a hacked iphone. They sue you for breaching the DMCA and they got your location so you can't run. Oh, and they also brick your phone for good measure.

LOL have you never herd of jail breaking and installing untrackeredStrangelove wrote:It was recently revealed that Apple periodically stores location data on its users.
If you have an Iphone or an Ipad you are affected. There's a file on the device that hold your location data, and it goes back a long time too.
It basically reveals where you've been for the past year (if you've had the device for that long).
That's what you get for trusting Apple, or any big corporation with no respect for its users. I'm hardly surprised.
Let me ask you: Are you looking forward to the GPS feature on Sony's next handheld now, hmm?
