Long story short: green Pois0n is great for noobs/beginners. It takes you step by step through the entire process. Putting the iPod into DFU mode(correct me if it has a different name) only takes 30 seconds, and the file installation is a1 minute give or take.

I've done this, and I personally don't care for it, my iPod does what I want it to do. After reverting to regular fw, you have to reinstall all of your apps/music, even if you backed it up. IMO this is a waste of time. now if you will excuse me, I need to go find all of my music...

And if its of any help, i tried jailbreakme and redsn0w, but they didn't work for my model.
I did some looking and saw that the model is an MC. As you may or may not know, it is the one that is labeled as a 3rd gen but is really an overhauled 2nd gen(since apple never made an 8 GB 3rd gen model).

i think redsn0w works for all iOS Versions or not?
