Running old school games on your PSP? It's definitely possible

Last month i stumbled upon this great FBA port to PSP https://sourceforge.net/projects/fba4psp/ and messed with the source code. Then i found out this pure MIPS written A68K core (MC68000 cpu emulator) https://github.com/dmitrysmagin/fba-a32 ... k/mips32r1 given the common mips architecture between PSP and A320, i ported the A68K core back to PSP and voila, it worked. I wanted to polish the emu some more but sadly it seems it is over my capabilities to do more. I still did a few touches here and there most notably changing the scaling filter from bilinear to point which gets rid of awful blurring of pixels.

It is based on R49 of original FBA4PSP which was never released as a binary afaik. Includes PGM, Cave, CPS, Seta, Sega, Konami and some more cores. Gamelist is included. Cave cames were heavily tested, other games not so much. Please report back any incompatible games, errors etc. Also if you are a PSP dev, i would like to work with you.

I am an Xbox developer who is now trying to learn PSP development. At the moment I have only done a couple of SDL games and ports for PSP, but anyways... I hope to have some free time this Summer, and it will be very nice to discuss things with you, and search for possible optimizations.

At the moment, I am struggling with the RAM constraints of the PSP. Being used to the "huge amount" of 64 MB that the Xbox has, the 24 available MB of my PSP-1000 don't seem enough for me ;) :lol:

EDIT: I am going to take a look at your source code too, in case that I see something I will let you know. Which makefile do you use?
