Or am I barking up the wrong tree and not going to find a SNES emulator that runs at something approaching normal speed?
(Realizes this is probably a foolish question.)
I'm really sorry. I guess I was in in lala land or something, and missed that you wanted an SNES emu that runs on PSV eCFW. Yeah that emu I uploaded is for the PSP ONLY as it runs off of the Media Engine. I guess it's both our fault though, cause this is the PSP Emulators sub-forum.Lord Light wrote:Running Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 mod rev 26. Was found on these forums. Running either 6.60 pro C (fix 3), or 6.60 LME.
Games tried included Super Metroid Redesign (Same problems existed with standard), Megaman X2, and X3, Kirby Superstar, Terranigma, and Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds (same problems existed with the original LttP), and Bahamuts Lagoon.
Edit: If it matters, other titles I'd like to get running in addition to the above would include Super Mario RPG (Armageddon 6.1 patch, if it's relevant), Chrono Trigger (Lavos awakening patch, again if relevant), and Final Fantasy 6 (Brave New World patch, again, if relevant), and Super Mario World 2 (Both standard and a few patched versions.), though I haven't got around to trying those yet.
MadZiontist, your version doesn't work for me at all, it proceeds to crash at game selection screen saying "error reading memory card, please verify with PC card reader, it may be corrupted." (Though the card obviously still reads in other applications)
Edit: Ah, looking at the .ini file, it appears to be referencing an invalid ms0 directory, not matching that found on my card. Could this be the problem?
As for performance, it varied from title to title, but terranigma lagged signifcantly during town movement and slowed to a crawl when any text box opened. the X games ran decently till random slowdown struck during boss fights, and there were various issues large or small in terms of speed issues on each of the others I attempted to run. Some are slow enough to just be flat unplayable (Kirby, Bahamuts Lagoon), others are only slow under certain conditions (X games, Super Metroid)
Ah, my bad. I misread in some sort of brief dyslexic gloss-over, saw kxploited, and thought I saw an "e" in front of CFW. Anyways, try the first emulator that I linked up again. When it gives you that error message, just hit triangle as many times as you need to and then navigate to the folder you have your ROMs in (hit circle to enter into directories and launch ROMs. Once you do that and launch your first ROM from the folder, you won't receive that error message again.Lord Light wrote:Uhm.... no? I am running a regular PSP, not a vita... I thought the firmware versions mentioned a few posts back covered that...
Yes there is a way to customize your own soundtrack. You HAVE to use SPC files for one thing. They're SNES format music files. In the SNES9X Emu's "DATA" folder, you'll find a folder named "MUSIC.zip". All you need to do to have a custom soundtrack, is to zip up the SPC files you want to use into an archive called MUSIC.zip. You can listen to SPC files (in order to preview them, or just for enjoyment's sakeDaniel_Davies85 wrote:I came on here tonight looking for advice on a SNES emulator for PSV and stumbled across this topic.
Went with the advice given of using Euohoria and I'm pleasantly surprised. The menu musical are a lovely touch and I've spent more time listening to them than actually playing a game.
Is there any way to edit/add to them?
Well here's hoping a mod looks at this and gives it the ok, I'd love to hear more tracks in my menu.MadZiontist wrote:Yes there is a way to customize your own soundtrack. Is there any way to edit/add to them?) using WinAmp, with the SPC plugin installed. I have everything necessary, including a (practically) bottomless pit of SNES SPC tracks. I don't know if I'm allowed to post them here or not. So I'm gonna error on the side of caution, unless/until it gets moderator approval.
