Help me pick a video card for my pc

Post by ramiro1398 » Wed Dec 28, 2011 9:37 pm

My pc is pretty old but i want to get it a video card.
My parents could buy it for me but it has to be less than $70 bucks.
My pc only supports PCI
I already looked at some.

you could have asked in one of the topics already in here about video cards, but whatever ...

the 8400GS series is a very old and very cheap card ... not worth bothering with, unless you are only planing on using it as a media center, and imho i wouldnt even use it for that.

the 430 and the 520 is also in the very cheap range ... iirc then they are both actually best buy, if you are looking for a cheap "useless" gfx card, that work well in a htpc ... if you ask me, my opinion would definitely be that you should spend a bit more and get the a 550 ti or maby even a gtx 560 ti ... i dont think you will regret that, but im pretty sure you will regret getting the 8400GS.

IMHO tho you should rather try getting a used high end card than a very cheap new one, dont try to be trying to save on it, as it is properly the worst thing to save on

I have one in my computer that runs DC universe Online.

NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M
Total available graphics memory 894 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 128 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 766 MB
This one is a good buy.
It is a good NVIDIA card that does get the job done sir.
