i am going to try to explain this as plainly as i can. i cannot tell you exactly how to do this because all computer companies do things a little bit differently. this will be vague but hopefully it will help you get done what you need to get done.Blue.Gazer wrote:so basically, i'm trying to reformat my laptop.

It doesn't work since the Recovery Manager is assigned as the 1st one to start up.imthemiz wrote:boot into safe mode when you start your laptop by pressing F8 before the windows 7 loading bar if you have retore point restore to an earlier time.

first you will need to insert the windows installation disk into the drive, then reboot. at the boot screen it should display a few options (in the top right-hand corner maybe?), and you will need to press key to enter boot menu or boot sequence (usually f2, f12 or something like that). it should tell you on the screen which button to press. once you get to the boot menu, use the arrows to select boot from cd-rom, at which point it should load up the windows installation disk. just follow the on-screen instructions from that point on.
when you get to the point where you are setting up partitions and choosing where to install windows, you can set it up however you want. if you want my personal advice on how i do things, read on.
