Help me with my laptop >_<

Post by Blue.Gazer » Fri Apr 01, 2011 4:11 pm

so basically, i'm trying to reformat my laptop. Then i marked a partition as active, and that partition is a recovery manager, then so, my laptop starts up in recovery manager not in windows anymore . I tried inserting my hp laptop disk, reboot my laptop, still nothing happens. I heard inserting a DOS boot disk cd will help me change it to unactive and so i can make my original partition set active again, but i don't have one but im trying to make my own one. even though i go to command prompt at start up or if i go to safe mode, the recovery manager shows up instead. HELP ME!

NOTE: I'm only 13 and use Windows 7
sooo, i might not be in the psp scene for a weeks/while because all of my files are there and my laptop won't boot to windows properly.
I'll be waiting for all of your replies :D

i am going to try to explain this as plainly as i can. i cannot tell you exactly how to do this because all computer companies do things a little bit differently. this will be vague but hopefully it will help you get done what you need to get done.

first you will need to insert the windows installation disk into the drive, then reboot. at the boot screen it should display a few options (in the top right-hand corner maybe?), and you will need to press key to enter boot menu or boot sequence (usually f2, f12 or something like that). it should tell you on the screen which button to press. once you get to the boot menu, use the arrows to select boot from cd-rom, at which point it should load up the windows installation disk. just follow the on-screen instructions from that point on.

when you get to the point where you are setting up partitions and choosing where to install windows, you can set it up however you want. if you want my personal advice on how i do things, read on.
personally i suggest you remove all partitions and format everything, then create one partition leaving something around 60 gb for the operating system and programs you wish to install. so for example if you have a 160 gb hard drive you would create a partition to have one 60 gb drive and one 100 gb drive. another option is to split it in half, but its just up to you. once the partition is created, choose which one you want to install windows in, and continue to follow the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete.
hopefully this helps you solve your problem ;)

boot into safe mode when you start your laptop by pressing F8 before the windows 7 loading bar if you have retore point restore to an earlier time.
One does not simply follw the piracy rules of /talk!

Some people here just says they buy the game for their psp but they really download it off the net.

It doesn't work since the Recovery Manager is assigned as the 1st one to start up.
