Ubuntu comes with OpenOffice, and yes, OO supports the horrible MS Office stuff. You can always run MS Office through Wine anyway.Askarik wrote:1- Does it support Microsoft Office? (editing and opening)

Err... of course. If you mean Windows games (which are most of them), they don't run natively, you have to execute them through Wine. if you like 3D effects, I bet you'll get amazed with Compiz-FusionAskarik wrote:3- Can it play 3D games?

I suggest you dual boot until you get comfortable with Ubuntu, since even if GUI is almost identical, how the OS works is completely different and you need to learn a lot of new stuff (such as using repositories, understading Linux filesystem, file permissions, and so on). IMHO Linux is way superior to Windows for advanced users.Askarik wrote:5- Does it worth to change my OS?

I must disagree with you on your first comment. There is no risk. All windows applications from the MS-DOS to Windows 7 are supported. The only problem might be of locating the file after it is installed. I have Windows 7 and Vista and Ubuntu on triple-boot but unvaryingly I always choose Ubuntu. You wanna know why? Cuz it's better is all...waratte wrote:You could risk losing the ability to execute thousands of applications and games if you switch completely. Wine does not work with everything and is certainly not better at running windows programs than windows itself. No operating system is better than another, how you like it just depends on how well it does the tasks you want done. Keep with dual boot and get the best of both worlds. That is all...

Usb works fine here, T'Ociàn. [TOcean wrote:Windows is better than ubuntu.

All windows applications from the MS-DOS to Windows 7 are supported. /quote] I find that statement there as rather humorous. Wine is not complete in terms of supporting the executions all applications, even if you had all of the required files.
