Neither C++ nor game design 'require' per-say a high-end computer. Also, large pixel collider kind of high end?

How much are you willing to spend? We need some kind of an approximate to find out pricing for the parts?
A good high end computer normal goes from £700-£8000

Unless you want to spend the most you can :D

amd fx-8350 with liquid cooling= 8 core 4ghz each/ 4.7 ghz OC.....$189.99

MSI R7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card =$225.00

ASRock 990FX Extreme3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS=$109.99

16gb of 2800mhz ram=$125

800watt modular power supply=$100

this is what i run right now on my tower, win 8.1, boots to full loaded and ready to run in about 1 min, runs skyrim and saints row 4 at the same time maxed out settings with no stress on 4 cores, x-boost mode runs all 8 cores ,but i want another 16gb of ram before i start using all 8 on the norm, with vurtalpc it can run full win 3.11,95,98,me,xp,vista,seven,and old 8.0 at the same time with multiple tasts running with little drag

only draw back is its a atx mother board and takes a big case.....i was originally going to use a different case but had to use a really old one..like late 90's old...
might be getting this case soon though

ps :: if your wanting a large pixel collider, a company built super pc

64 gb super high speed ram=$3300
4 amd titian graphics cards with 5gb of ddr5 ram=$1060 each
high speed 4 tb ssd=$900-1500
1tb ssd hybrid drive for core os= $190-600 each for 2
2400 watt psu=$250
quad hdmi lcd= $400-5000 each for 4-8 monitors

see how much we need a price range for this......it can very dramatically depending on what you want
