Gamepad vs Keyboard + Mouse
Title says it all really. What do you guys use for gaming on PC? I personally use keyboard + mouse for FPS and RTS, and gamepad for racing, emulators etc.

Re: Gamepad vs Keyboard + Mouse
I prefer my 360 controller for all gaming. I only fallback to mouse/keyboard when I "have too".

Keyboard and Mouse.
I like buttons, and lots of them.
Controllers just don't have enough buttons, and force you to cycle though menus, or use odd combinations, to perform the same tasks a keyboard can dedicate a key to. Or worse, the game control scheme is dumbed down in development so as to not need more buttons, making it very simplistic, in which many complex and realistic games series could never survive.
The only console game that ever came close to enough was Steel Battalion..

Re: Gamepad vs Keyboard + Mouse
I'd say keyboard and mouse in general for the variety of buttons and the precision and speed. I can't imagine space shooters for example being played on anything but a keyboard and mouse without overly simplifying the control scheme (aka removing half of their fun). There's also RTS games and their need for multitasking, for example SC2 would be unplayable with a controller vs anything better than a very very lazy AI.

After I got my new computer, I find that my Keyboard and Mouse are much more intuitive for gaming/other purposes.

Re: Gamepad vs Keyboard + Mouse
it really depends on the game and the user. I for one can't imagine a fighting game using anything but a controller or arcade stick, and personally racing/games that require driving perform better with controllers imho, while shooters and MMORP work best with keyboard+mouse

And games like Sonic Adventure 2 are practically universal.

Re: Gamepad vs Keyboard + Mouse
They had DLC For that version
(Wish I had Dreamcast version)
Re: Gamepad vs Keyboard + Mouse
Don't worry the Battle edition is the best one with the most content ^__^
the only downside is that the Dreamcast version had a better Dark Garden
