Multimedia/Gaming Notebook suggestions

Post by BonnieBon » Tue Feb 12, 2013 7:15 am

Heyho guys,

I want to buy a new multimedia/gaming Notebook and wanted to ask you, if you have any suggestions for me. My old notebook was one of the acer aspire models, which i have bought for 1300 euro 2 years ago . This notebook was destroyed by my older sister, when she wanted to take my notebook. She dropped it on the ground and the display is completely broken, because it was open before and it landed exactly on the display '-'. The warranty finished exactly 1 week before so i was really unlucky. I dont know if a reparation is useful and if I really want a reparation. I mean it freeze sometimes when I listened to music, played games and so on. I have read in the acer forum, that the reason for this is in the harddrive, so I couldnt do anything against it.

So i have decided to buy a new notebook, which should be also a multimedia/gaming Notebook. I live in Germany and this time it should only be up to 1000 euro, since the more expensive one wasnt really good. It should be a new one ( end of 2012/beginning of 2013) and with a good perfomance. I will use the notebook for listening to music, playing games, doing my homeworks and later I will probably need it for the university. I have already searched for some notebooks and one of them was really good looking and it sounds like it has a good perfomance. It´s a sony vaio svs1512s1es, but the word sony is really intimidating me, because we all know that sony hasnt a good service at all. Do you guys have any other suggestions for me?

Thank you for reading my long story and thank you in advance :)

In ordinance of a cheap MOBILE entertainment/gaming experience. Id go with these badboys right here. Decently priced/look nice/and perform very well.

Check these dudes out.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_ ... eapad+y580

these lenova laptops outperform those sony ones anyday. You wouldnt mind paying the extra shipping, if your willing to spend 1k euros.

Hmm for what are you using the sony vaio? I really like the look of Sony Vaio notebooks, but some people told me, that they arent good.

Do you use one of the y-series? And would you suggest me to buy IdeaPad Y580 Laptop with i5 or i7 processor? I have read once that for cheap notebook its better to buy i5 and not i7 even though i7 has more perfomence.

It depends on how you plan to actually use your laptop (because,as you realise,i7 would drain the battery faster than i5)

Me?I plan on (sometime in a future in an unknown date) buying a "cheap, gaming" laptop. What I mean by cheap is that I will buy high-ish end laptop from a local assembler. What I want is something that is more mobile than a desktop but not VERY lacking so I would choose a i7.Preferrably with an AMD GPU but nothing except Sony Vaios got this intel/amd combo....and even then results are disappointing :/

(BTW:When I said high-ish,I mean mid-high)

What I have found so far is a i7 and a 640M for 750e.
What do I have:
Nothing to lose.
Are the results from Sony Vaios intel/amd combos disappointing?
