I'll be happy to help. I do have two questions before I can really answer though:

What country are you in? I notice you say Dollars, but I can't properly look into it without knowing which region. Also, are you comfortable with building the PC?

Honestly, I would suggest you build your won. 2 years ago I built the computer I am currently useing for $140. Waited a month then bought a video card for $199. It can play everygame I have thrown at it, though not all on the 'best" settings. And that was 2 years ago. For $300 you can do quite well, if you build yourself. Get alot more value anyways.

It is very easy to put a PC together. If you decide to go this route, I could help you with choosing, as well as walk you through putting it together.

are you in the US? $300 is gonna be hard, is 300 your entire budget or just for the cpu? coz you need atleast $400 to build a decent gaming entry-level cpu, i suggest u buy your parts from ebay. I also built my pc on used parts (video card, hardrive and powersupply) coz they are expensive but the rest are new. here is a summary of what I got, ill just put the average money i spent on the cpu

AMD phenom iix4 965 BE - $99
asus m5a97 r2.0 mobo - $99
corsair vengeance8gb(used)- $30
Asus radeon hd 6770(used) - $60
Seagate barracuda 1tb(used) - $45
corsair gs600(used) - $45
Asus dvd-r- $16
tplink wifi adapter - $18
rosewill challenger case - $40

around $450..good enough for me since I only play not so heavy games like dota,hon..also tried farcry3 on high settings and it runs okay..but if you want a better experience I suggest invest in a good graphics card around $200 but is obviously out of your budget range..go for a used gtx550 or radeon 6770 or higher to fit your budget

O, and what stuff do you already have? I was able to keep my price down because I was using an old case, an old PSU, and an old hard drive. I just had to buy a mobo, cpu, ram, and video card.

This was kinda hard. In the end, I came up with this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KeIN . You can probably max out a lot( or most) of games at 720p, with some of the less extensive ones at 1080p. I suggest just saving up a little more.

Actually, not to far from how I started my system, at least pricewise (I did it a few years ago). I would go with ^ and then down the road get a nice video card, once you save up enough. That way you can have a system that can play games nicely "now", and while still being upgradeable.
