Did you enable the fullscreen options in the games?

i usually get that with a video, but not a game. and of course, i never tried windows 7 like you seem to have, so this is just guesswork. are you playing an old game, or have the game's video settings set to 640x480, or anything smaller than your screen size? that could be it, but i am just guessing at it.

Go to options,then choose resolution of 1600x900 or 1280 x 720.If this doesn't help,then after starting the game,hit Alt+Enter.good luck mate :)

I purposely play in a window with most of my games. It's so much better than fullscreen...

what i did last time was to put nvidia control panel's res settings to whatever the game will run to. For example, i have a game that i chose to be at 1024x768, then i should go to control panel and set the master res settings to 1024x768 but not working now :x

You should pick a resolution that matches your screen, then the game should match that. You should never base your screen's resolution of a game.
