The reason is i lost my recovery partition and I want to make it look everything like a stock untouched oem laptop.
I've got everything except of the OEM screensaver.

Wow you too? I had a pqservice paritition aka "ALT-F10" it also got delete while trying to install ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 64 bit and the installation deleted it for some reason but i manage to get drivers off the acer website.HeroKing wrote:unfortunately no. my acer didn't even have a recovery disc, just a hidden recovery partition that got deleted when i messed up an ubuntu update. i got an email about getting a free recovery disc in the mail, but i haven't recieved it yet

Serves them right for not providing recovery dvds in the first place...HeroKing wrote:it was an email i got for having my model registered between such and such dates. apparently, acer got sued by somebody claiming they don't include recovery dvds with their laptops, and he won. or acer settled, can't really remember. the email stated that because of me registering my laptop, i was entitled a portion of the settlement by mailing in a request form, in this case a free recovery dvd. i got the email back in like december or january, i think, but i haven't received the dvd yet
and i just checked the website where i got the form, and the claim period has expired, so can't get it now
