Does anyone have their OEM screensaver the one that displays a black model looking like 5560"15" - 5750Z"15"

The reason is i lost my recovery partition and I want to make it look everything like a stock untouched oem laptop.

I've got everything except of the OEM screensaver.

Wow you too? I had a pqservice paritition aka "ALT-F10" it also got delete while trying to install ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 64 bit and the installation deleted it for some reason but i manage to get drivers off the acer website.

I tried various tools to recover that pqservice parition and no luck at the end.
I also tried inputting my SNID at acer website to order recovery disc but apparently my model cannot be found on thier database...

can you pm me on how to get recovery disc for free?
much appreciated! cheers mate :)

it was an email i got for having my model registered between such and such dates. apparently, acer got sued by somebody claiming they don't include recovery dvds with their laptops, and he won. or acer settled, can't really remember. the email stated that because of me registering my laptop, i was entitled a portion of the settlement by mailing in a request form, in this case a free recovery dvd. i got the email back in like december or january, i think, but i haven't received the dvd yet

and i just checked the website where i got the form, and the claim period has expired, so can't get it now

Serves them right for not providing recovery dvds in the first place...
My question is "Why can't they find my serial number on their database... ARRRG! :x
I guess I have to go back where i got it from...

did it delete the recovery partition or just change the master boot record so that it wasn't usable?
if this is the case install win xp black edition and restore the master boot record then restore as normal

i had to do this after my roommate at the time tried to upgrade my desktop to vista ult while i was out of town a few years ago

the master boot record is recorded in the pqservice partition
you have to change the recovery partition to a normal partition then pull the mbr to the main drive and instal it
after that Restart and use the recovery keys to enter the recovery menu and the pqservice partition will automatically change back to a hidden drive
whole process should only take 10min to a half hour before you can factory restore

xp black edition is only use for the mbr restore
your factory os will be reinstalled by the recovery install
also sorry i don't remember all the small details on how to do this, here is a site with the small hard to remember parts
http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/55 ... ption.html

ps: service disks only help 0.54% of pc users as internal recovery serves the rest of them well also you can burn recovery disks yourself(the iso is in pqservice on acer) otherwise hdd have a 5 to 7 year lifespan under even excessive use witch is the intended lifespan of the pc before it is outdated beyond updatability
have fun, stay safe
