Here's my conundrum, I play Counter-Strike: Source... a lot... and I built my new PC recently (specs below) I connect to my router via WiFi and sometimes when I play online I get a latency of 40-50 which is pretty good, very playable. but MOST of the time and at random times it spikes for long periods of time to a latency of 300 to 1000+. I know it can achieve the latency of 40-50 so why wont it stay there!? I disconnect all wifi devices, and anything else possibly using the router, I changed the WiFi channel, what else can I do?
I thought it could be redirecting to a different ISP server further away from my location, but if thats so, can I somehow force it to connect to a single server? (the one thats got the lowest ping?)
anyone know how to do that? or got any other suggestions?
