Will Windows 8 allow to to keep your desktop items, programs and others when upgrading to Windows 8? I have all my programs I like and have gotten comfy in Windows 7 and I am checking out Windows 8 on another partition that has nothing on it and obviously I need practice moving around in Windows 8. BTW I found the NX or as my bios calls it Non-executable and changed the setting to accommodate Windows 8. Oh and will I keep my jump-lists as well?

1st. Release Preview is already there, better get that.

2nd. All your files will be restored if you are upgrading from Windows 7 or Windows 8 Developers Preview, else everything will be moved to Windows.Old folder in C:\ or wherever you install it.

3rd. Just one month is left for the official release of Windows 8, and when it releases your build will expire and you'll have to buy a key to upgrade to the RTM. ;)

The only reason I'm on W7 is because of DirectX 11.
The only reason I'm not on Linux is because my internet doesn't work on that OS.

If you're running a game, why would it matter if it's using memory in the background? The only reason it would be in the background is if you are tabbing for a minute to look something up anyways. Not to mention that most people that game on PC usually have a large amount of RAM installed anyways.

Windows 8 sucks both for developers, game designers and users. Simple.

I got the full version of Windows 8 Pro. :D Valid till April 23 2013.

I have an English Start Menu :D
If you are complaining you just need to download WinStart 1.01 from a bundle called Windows 8 Master it's chinese but there is an english translation in options.

In my opinion Windows XP was their best operating system, since you could actually find everything without googling how to's  .
