Humble Indie Bundle #2

Post by TMMDI » Tue Dec 21, 2010 7:39 am

Have you guys heard of the Humble Indie Bundle? They had one last year. It's a sale they do where you can buy a 5 indie game bundle for the price of... whatever you want! You can be a *** and give a penny or give them $1337 if you want. It lets you choose where you want your money to go to. You can choose to give like half of the profits to charity and half to the game developers or all of it to charity and none of it to the developers, etc... Anyways the 2nd one is going on right now so yeah cheapest game bundle known to man going on right now. I've been playing the games all day now.

Hmm, never heard of this before. Seems like a cool idea though.

Also, I find these stats for average payment pretty interesting:
Windows: $6.21
Mac: $8.53
Linux: $13.52

m0skit0 will likely have something to say about this...

Excellent. I missed the first one, but the games in this one look awesome

Edit: bought one for me, and one as a Christmas gift for a friend :D
If you need US PSN Codes, this technique is what I recommend.

I ended up paying $5 which I guess is short from generous. I already have three of the games on Steam and wanted Cortex Command and Revenge of the Titans. The first Humble Bundle is my favorite so far. Also indie gamers should check out the Steam Christmas Sale where you can get packs of 5 games for 5 dollars.

Indie Smarts Pack
Puzzle Dimension
QuantZ
DroplitZ
Puzzle Agent
Lumines

Indie Fright Pack
Flotilla
Gratuitous Space Battles
Dog Fighter
Guns of Icarus
Everyday Shooter

Indie Mix Pack
Plain Sight
Eufloria
Cogs
Darwinia
DEFCON

Indie Kids Pack
Max & the Magic Marker
Crayon Physics
Toki Tori
Delve Deeper
Secret of Magic Crystals

Indie Beat Pack
Beat Hazard
Rhythm Zone
Chime
Turba
bit.trip

Indie Future Pack
Hacker Evolution
Uplink
System Protocol One
Twin Sector
Hammerfight

Indie Adventure Pack
Mr.Robot
Jolly Roger
Gish
Samorost2
And Yet it Moves

Indie 2D Pack
Super Laser Racer
Geometry Wars
VVVVVV
Bullet Candy
Galcon Fusion

Indie Brain Pack
Zen Bound 2
Diamond Dan
Puzzle Bots
Windosil
Big Brain Wolf

I ended up buying the Brain Pack, Future Pack, and the Smarts Pack along with VVVVVV (2.49) and Super Meat Boy (3.75 until it updates again today).

@Mr.X:
Yes, Linux users tend to pay more for these, I'd say it's most likely by ideology, and also if you use Linux, there's a high chance you are a programmer, and have a better understanding of the amount of work these games represent, so you're probably willing to pay a bit more.
Windows users compensate their lower average by their massive numbers though. and since copying a file is free, I think the "mass" effect here is probably helping a lot (the graph on the page also shows that windows users represent more than half of the total money)
