can you increase shared mem for integrated GPU's?

Post by Sam A56 » Sun Oct 07, 2012 4:01 am

I was only wondering about if this was possible because I use a program called ReconstructMe, more info @ http://www.reconstructme.net and it needs A LOT of VRAM. My laptop has an AMD Llano A6-3400m APU with an integrated AMD Radeon HD 6520G with 512 megabytes of memory (which is taken from the 6 GB of system memory) and has a (CPU) clock speed of 1.4/2.3 GHz x 4 cores. Now, in a nutshell the more VRAM, the higher quality 3D models can be produced with my Kinect. So, as the title says, is it possible to increase shared memory for integrated or non-discrete GPU's?

you can find more stuff on their blog's gallery

EDIT: my bios is locked so that is not an option.

I'm not aware of any program that can do this, the only system I've had with integrated graphics in the past decade had an option for it in the BIOS setup.

There are numerous tools that can increase core clock speeds.
(Note: This program is an overclocking tool. Be careful when using it, as you could screw something up.)
(Remember: AMD or anyone else does NOT take responsibility for this product, or how you use it.)
AMD Overdrive
(Take notice that this application is made BY AMD)

And overclocking has nothing to do with OP's question either. :|
