Introduction
Jiun is a F2P MOBA orthogonal 2D retro styled, developed over 2 years by a team of passionates of video game.
The game is playable in real time which differs from many 2D games wich are online turn-based, we wanted to maintain a user-friendly controls and gameplay similar to Zelda.
In Jiun it will mainly be possible to fight by choosing among two factions availables, joining organizations' player, attacking enemy's goals, rob resources and garrisons goods.
Gameplay
Jiun relies heavily on the use of objects. So there is no character class.
Your character is defined by what you like, because if you often use a bow you will be much more efficient with it and arrows than with a big hammer.
There are no spells that the character can learn. However, you can equip some 'stones' with particular characteristics that might allow you to cast offensives or defensives spells.
Remember that in Jiun there isn't an auto attack system
Overview
How to play?
Jiun is currently in development but a public beta will be released by the end of March 2014.
Using a bow is similar to using melee weapons. Bows are dual-handed weapons, and are used with the left hand key (L by default). To shoot an arrow the character has to aim at the target and therefore remains stationary during the attack animation. Position yourself carefully, as you're open to both melee and ranged weapon fire.
There is no automatic attack in Jiun like in traditional MOBAs, so you have to be skilled and time your shots or face defeat. Quick reactions are also crucial to moving away from the path of incoming arrows. To save yourself from enemy volleys, consider carrying a shield: it provides both a 30% passive chance to block incoming arrow damage, and can be used to block them if timed well.

FAQ :
The game will run into a HTML5 canvas which is also made in HTML5 is accessible outside the box. So that implies that you will be able to log on IRC,SKYPE or whatever. I'll probably put some sounds when something interesting comes up to notice the player.- Is the ingame chat accessible outside the game. I mean, can I log on IRC/Jabber/whatever and still access the ingame chat? From all the MMOs I've played so far, I've found that at one point once I reach level/gear cap,
the only thing left in it is chatting with people until something more interesting comes up (eg. a raid), or while I have something else to do (eg. banning spambots on /talk or having dinner or something).
Not yet, we are now working on Jiun for 2 years and we don't want to reveal to much thing because it wouldn't reflect the aspect of the coming public release.- Is there any gameplay footage video you can show so far?
Yes, especially a map editor !- Is there going to be any modding/addon support?
You play in your browser. It implies you need JavaScript activated.- Are there any details regarding system requirements? What platforms will be supported?
To make Jiun run, system requirements are the following :
Platform : Windows, Linux, Solaris, Mac, Android, IOS
Proc : Monocore 2.2Ghz would be ok (around 40-55 fps depending the video card)
Ram : 1024MB
Video Card : whatever more than 256 MB
Keyboard + Mouse and Internet (You'll be maybe able to play in 2G from you mobile phone, depending the bandwidth the game uses)
Nope on client-side. But there will be anti-cheat systems implemented server side. So you don't have to care about it , it is invisible for end users. Is this game going to include some (****) anti-cheat system that crashes half my operating system?
Jiun will be available in French and English.- As far as the game documents are concerned, is there any English translation for them? I don't speak French. >.>
Our business plan rely on f2p management with microtransactions. You will be able to buy skins for your characters and services.- And lastly, what is the business model you're going to use for your game? Is it going to be f2p with p2w microtransactions, or paid GW/WoW-style, or are you going to rely on donations?
The open beta will come March, 30th of 2014. You can register on our web site http://jiun.net- Is there a specific timetable as to when an open beta will occur? Just noticed beta is going to be in 2 months. Is it also going to be limited to only the people who have applied, or to anyone that wishes to do so?
