android pmp topic

The thing I've got about tablets is they essentialy cant do anymore than a smartphone or (like I want) a smart pmp. Plus they can't fit in your pocket and if your just carrying it around sombody might mug you I've been thinking about that sony android walkman and I bet you anything that it will be overpriced (aren't all sony products?). So I am still open for pmp suggestions!

Well, Iv'e been doing more research and have decided the archos are a little to junkie, but what do expect for the price! I'm still hoping samsung will wisen up and release the wifi, but I'm thinking the apple lawsuit might be whats delaying them. I can't find any others realy interesting and I'll never get an ipod unless they hack it to run android, and even then, no micro sd card, no gps, no fm radio, relatively tiny screen (even if it does burn your retina), it is just over rated

Well, from the looks of it there may be an October release for the samsung galaxy players so just another month
I found Anything but ipod forum to be a very usefull source of info if your interested.

@Wololo: sorry, didn't saw your answer. All that can be done through a smartphone, and you can call as well. The only benefit a tablet has over a smartphone is the screen size, which IMHO is not enough to justify the price (way overbloated for such an underpowered device). I've seen people using tablets, I've used some myself, and I still think it's just a stupid fashion that will fade away soon enough when people realize it has no real use at all. I'm still waiting to see a situation where a tablet would fit better than a smartphone or a laptop/notebook.

@moskito, with you 100%! Further more, have you seen windows 8!?! It's esentialy their windows phone 7 with childish looking multi-color boxes! Obviously optimized for tablets It even has a freakin app store! I thought phones were supposed to be getting more like a pc, not the pc getting more like a phone! Tablets will never fully replace pc and microsoft will reallize that to late.

Yeah, also apps for W8 will be HTML5 + JS, abandoning .Net, which is a shame when MS has been marketing .Net all this last years. I really hope Windows 8 will be biggest MS failure.

Well, it will be tough to beat the EPIC fail vista, but windows 8 looks like its up to the task! Get a life - get linux.
