Video: Is this the alleged PlayStation Phone?

The long-rumored PlayStation Phone has been spotted again in the wild, but this time, in full motion form, sporting a 4-inch touch panel with Android on board.



A grainy video has surfaced over the web of the alleged device that distinctly resembles the previously leaked images of the much-rumored Android-based PlayStation slider phone. Unfortunately, the person using the phone doesn't show hidden gems of the slider rumored to feature a multi-touch touchpad with the usual array of PSP buttons.

Techblog.gr reports that the device, dubbed as the Sony Ericsson Z1 (aka Zeus), is equipped with Android 3.0 (aka Gingerbread) on board and a 4-inch panel that apparently offers great touchscreen responsiveness.

It’s rumoured to debut next week, with a release scheduled sometime in February of next year at the Mobile World Congress.

If it's that, it definitely has nothing to do with a PSP except the name.

Can't say I'll be buying one. The whole idea just doesn't seem right to me.

Anyway, in relation to the video: I don't know what that is. I'm so out of the loop when it comes to mobile phones, and to me they all look the same nowadays.

This seems closer and closer to the Xperia brand than the Playstation brand. I would assume Sony will have a dedicated PSN for this, and most likely it will not support PSP games. We're lucky if we even get Minis to work IMO.

If it's Android-based, nothing made for PSP will work unless ported.

they could add a psp chip on the phone. It would still be android based, with a way to switch between android and psp. This doesn't hit me as "impossible" given the cost and size of a psp CPU nowadays.
