PSPhone "game mode"

Post by dridri » Sun Nov 21, 2010 8:50 pm

Now we know that the PSPhone has a QualComm processor, which uses the ARM architecture, but the PSP uses a MIPS processor. So my question is :
Is the PSPhone uses his ARM processor to emulate MIPS or has it a second CPU like the PSP's one ?

To my opinion, I think that it has a second CPU that is activated only in "game mode"

My opinion is that the would use the second cpu in "game mode".
It'll would be easier to follow the stream rather than to be against it.

I would say the same. It's probably cheaper to integrate a low cost chip than to work on a full speed emulator...
that's assuming the psp phone will actually be compatible with psp games :?
If you need US PSN Codes, this technique is what I recommend.

I don't think that PSPhone will have anything like PSP except the name. It's said it will ship with Android, which will make it 100% incompatible with any PSP software. It's a con.
