depending on service provider, you can disable data throttling
most providers monitor your data though proxies the phone is set to use, this is most of your lag and depending on Terms of use, this is how they monitor and record your web browsing for use in federal courts
most of these proxies can be deactivated by changing the proxies to 0.0.0.0 or to non active
you can google on how to do this depending on your phone and sevice provider
[spoiler]on boost mobile (usa) with stock roms, you can do it though dialer code ##3282# then interning you msl#
and editing 3 of the proxies to 0.0.0.0, (DO NOT CHANGE PORT SETTINGS) just change proxies in multimedia and dss menus
DO not change your mms proxy or you will not be able to receive pic txt or files sent to you via txt
also remember to screen shot or write down all your settings prier to changing them so you can change them back if needed
there are many ways to obtain the 6 digit msl# from inside the phones fw
