Re: MUST BUY GAMING TABLET
The only tablet I think looks cool is called a Pengpod. http://pengpod.com/ A "real" desktop experence, runing LXDE (my prefered desktop), in tablet form. Plus it "can" boot android too if I want. It has HDMI and usb, with a full desktop, what more do you need.

Eh, I prefer Morrorwind, and they are making an opensource Morrorwind. Not "ready" yet, but getting awesome.PCMGR wrote:Skyrim.Portable.
Not to say Skyrim isn't awesome, as it is. Bloody awesome, but Morrorwind is the best in the series imo. Could just be because it was my first Elder Scrolls game
Though personally, I would prefer to play "big" games on my desktop. I have it set up nicely myself with dual 1080p screens, and great audio. Untill they get a portable 1080p tablet screen, I don't really feel into hardcore gaming on a tablet. I just want a nice desktop env, with plenty of legacy apps.
Granted, X86/64 would be better for legacy apps/games/Can run Win7, but Arm is just SOOOO much better with GHz per watt. Since I would like a good batter life, I either get A nice linux tablet, or a horridly expensive Windows one, that runs a locked down OS that I personally can't stand (Win8RT).

That is not RT however.RT=ARM and AFAIK Intel i5/7=/=ARM.Theredbaron wrote:Eh, I prefer Morrorwind, and they are making an opensource Morrorwind. Not "ready" yet, but getting awesome.PCMGR wrote:Skyrim.Portable.

I know, saw that. I was saying that I wouldn't get an x86 tablet because it eats the power. So arm. The only windows for arm is either Windows CE, which sucks, or Win8RT, which is even worse.PCMGR wrote:That is not RT however.RT=ARM and AFAIK Intel i5/7=/=ARM.

But still,ps2/wii/gc/dc portable emulation is tempting...untill you see the price tag LOL

I do believe those will all work on ARM, though I am not sure. I "know" Dolphin works on Arm linux cpu's, as I saw it running on a chromebook. I am also pretty sure LXDream (DC) is working for ARM linux too. PCSX2 doesn't, as far as I know, work on ARM linux so that one is out.PCMGR wrote:Theredbaron wrote:I know, saw that. I prefer PC games myself, though I do love the DC, and like GC/PS2. I would "miss" my PC games on an ARM tablet, but most of the games I "love" are older, thus would be easy enough to play in QEMU. For new games, I am sure that before too long they will start being released with ARM compatibility so as to work with WinRT, and Wine is starting to work on WIN-ARM support, so Yeah.

Speaking of ARM...Vita has a quad core ARM,hmmm, wonder what it could pull off if it ever got Linux support.

Re: MUST BUY GAMING TABLET
That is one of the biggest reason I got a vita. I really look forward to a kernel hack, as I believe that that will make it the best portable. It would be AWESOME to be able to boot up an LXDE debian on vita. I got a vita now, before a "hack", as I know it is often best to have an early one.PCMGR wrote: Speaking of ARM...Vita has a quad core ARM,hmmm, wonder what it could pull off if it ever got Linux support.

[Drools with the mere thought of GNOME3 on the Vita]Theredbaron wrote:That is one of the biggest reason I got a vita.
