Android Games for PSVita

Post by omer259 »

Hey guys I'm just finishing making my first game for Android. I was wondering since the PS-Mobile suite is now free for developers would it be worth my time to develop games for the PSVita? Would you guys buy my games if I put them up for $0.99 since I can't place ads on PS-Mobile content.

Anyways my android game isn't released yet but you can check it out at http://www.facebook.com/omsgames or http://www.twitter.com/omsgames. Do you think casual games like this would work on the PS-Vita or are you guys all hardcore gamers?

Yeah I was planning on doing that since I have a vita myself and love it! Except everyone says the vita isn't doing so well. I think I need to hire a graphics artist first though I'm not very good at art in general lol, and I think the vita caters to people that have tastes for high end graphics as opposed to the 3DS for example

i buy a lot of games, especially at 0.99 since if i don't like it i don't lose much, and if it is good, then i got a good deal..

unless it gets lots and lots of good reviews i won't spend much more than 2.99 on a psm game usually

1.99 could be a better price for some developers depending on if sales are predicted to be the same or more than half of the sales if at 99c.. maybe in between at 1.49 would be optimal for some.. for lower, but solid sales, maybe a higher price is better.. knowing what to price it as is probably one of the trickiest problems, ha..

The game looks good, although it needs a bit more polishing.

There aren't that many PSV out there and like you I'm not sure such a game would be appealing to those who have one.
Why not try on iOS? There are a lot more iOS devices out there and the users are more likely to buy that kind of game.
Sorry.

Because porting from Android to iOS if you didn't make it portable is basically re-writing from scratch, and in an awful language like Objective-C this can be really a PITA.

Yeah, porting to iOS does indeed mean rewriting it.

:D I hated that language when I started.
But now with all the huge improvements they made (ARC, blocks...), I like it most of the time. Although I still use C++ for some things.
Sorry.
