So I'm a complete newbie in this... I have PS2 slim and just wondering -- before I start doing anything with it -- is covering up the sensors ALL I need to do to play burned games?? Because that's all it says in the tutorial. Or do I still need to use a game disk? Or an additional program? Once again, I have PS2 slim and I haven't modified it yet whatsoever.

Thanks a lot! xD

Ok, I looked around on the internet and I think I'm pretty much set. Gonna start the process right now...

Dang, sorry I wasn't here for the past few days.

@MrShyCity I use AVG and there is no virus whatsoever. TBH, McAfee isn't the best anti-virus, go with AVG free edition, I believe it is the #1 rated.
@denbal87 Glad you liked it :)

Re: [Tutorials] PS2 Thread: Softmod, game backups, homebrew,

Can I use my PSP as a USB drive (which contain ELFs for Argon, Open PS2 Loader, Simple Media System) with a uLaunchELF DVD+R?

EDIT: My friend has a modchipped PS2. I don't have a PS2 yet. We both have a 4:3 SDTV.
The uLaunchELF DVD+R was made by myself, using this tutorial ( http://psx-scene.com/forums/f113/make-u ... post401425 ), it was intended for CD's, but I don't have CD's, only DVD+R's. So will uLaunchELF work with DVD+R?
Are there any other homebrew apps (not games or emulators)?

EDIT 2: Can I remove the uLauncheELF PS2 disc after launching the homebrew?

Yes, I believe you can use your PSP as a USB drive. I tested that a while ago and it worked with playing files off of it, test it to be sure.

I think that you can just put the uLaunchELF on the disc with no special adjustments, I believe that is only if you want it on CD. I don't want you to waste a DVD for nothing though. Since your friend has a modchip, he can just install Free McBoot from a DVD onto his memory card, that way you can load apps from memory cards/USB devices other than just discs (unless modchips can do that, I never used a modchip).

And yes, there are a couple other homebrew apps like: GSModeSelector (You can output your games to higher resolution that 480i, I don't think it would benefit you at all since you have an SDTV), and actual Linux that you can run on PS2! Never tried the Linux though, but it has various applications of its own that you can use.
