I made 2 posts to answer Xian Nox and Codestation individually. Even I lost track of who I am talking to so I thought it's better to make seperate posts. Well sorry anyways ^^.

I was referring to the content pointed by that link, no the source on this page since its unrelated to it.
azrayl wrote: You can output the files you mentioned with PHP but PHP is not really meant to create png, csv or any other files. It's meant to create websites.
I can agree with this, i was just telling that is wrong to say that php is useless outside html development.
azrayl wrote: But anyways I am kinda missing the 'website' part in this whole debate. I thought I said that I am referring to websites. I am a web person.
Yep, that could be the reason. Probably i will have a similar point of view if i would have worked primarily on web sites.
azrayl wrote: - That last point of yours does not count since your QML is a mixture type of language. And yea your the info you get on wikipedia also states that QML is only based on Javascript. It is not Javascript alone. Looking at the syntax it looks more like Actionscript. You can't import any libraries, classes, etc. in Javascript.
And again I am a web person and was talking about websites.
I was only showing an example where javascript isn't worthless outside the browser. Is the same with ActionScript since one can build complete applications on Flex using AS3.
azrayl wrote: Is this a discussion or did it escalate into an argument? I'm not posting stuff to make enemies or something.
Yea, it seems that its turning into one. I am sorry if i was too much into it . I just couldn't contain myself after reading that js/as/php were useless outside the browser (that was how i interpreted it, maybe i was wrong :? )

Yep, doing multi quotes on separate users can be a pain without multiposting. I hope that wololo implements that phpbb plugin that merge posts automagically :)

REALLY? How many languages are there? About one new dialect is born every minute I guess (I myself have tried to make MANY languages but always got stuck while parsing)

Well sorry if I was the person to actually offend others but I didn't intend to fight at all. I just wanted to state my own oppinion/experience. That's what this thread was intended for I thought.
But anyways I'm glad it didn't turn out to be an all out flame war.

Wow, shakespeare, chef and wow whitespace looks like so much fun -.-". Actually Edwin Brady as a name sounds pretty familiar - where did I hear that name?

those are esoteric languages, they are mode mostly for fun, not for actual use (and some of them are funny as heck like LOLCODE  )

Wow! I had no idea (Someone really has to have a good imagination to make programming funny )

Everyone was just stating their own opinion - Now mine :

JustBASIC: I learnt to program in this first but quit within a few months, their forums are ruled by a dictatorship and all the mods care about is that their language stay on top, that's why anything related to creating a clone is NOT ALLOWED, I made a quickCoder project and instead of appreciation I was told that I was trying to replace THEIR language! :x

So, even though I started with this, I would NEVER recommend this to anyone else, it is a waste of time

The wololo.net forums are MUCH better! Everyone gets along and recognizes each others talent and wololo never tries to have it so that he stays on top(great job 8-) ), all of this I like very much and for any newbie I would actually recommend this site!

@azrayl: sorry I didn't reply you myself, but basically what Xian Nox and Acid_Snake said is what I would have said. It's good when you think you know something, but it's even better to be able to understand what other people are saying and rectify your opinion/knowledge. Most of the things you said were just plain wrong. But having wrong knowledge is not wrong. The wrong part is not being able to rectify your knowledge. 3 developers are here saying that you're wrong. There must be some truth in what they're saying.

Have fun!

PS: Btw, I've worked with PL/SQL 5 years, and no, it's NOT a general-purpose programming language, neither is SQL. It's a specific-purpose programming language. And it sucks.
I wanna lots of mov al,0xb
