Why learn C?

Post by m0skit0 » Thu Jun 28, 2012 1:54 pm

A very interesting article on why learning the C language, which for some beginners might seem an old, out of fashion (nothing more far from reality actually) language. Must read for anyone interested in learning programming. Not so much for C programmers, as we already know all this ;) Worth a look anyway.

I used to be a programmer in C but when my son was born i stopped coding all together. I recently installed Code::Blocks on my Windows machine and ive started watching some video tutorials by the company 'VTC'. I found that after not coding for so many years, i had forgotten most of what i did know...but these tutorials are helping bring back the knowledge again!

Reason why im starting to code again is coz i have a lot of spare time for the computer these days, and i used to have fun back in the day making game trainers, like ball/score hacks for things like Pinball and even some cheats for games like Battlefield/Enemy Territory (such as no fog and things like that). I wont be making hacks for online games though, coz i dont condone cheating against real ppl...cheating against the PC though in single player mode is fine!

Apart from hello world and little things like that, im just practising making things like calculators and guess games and the likes! Heck, maybe even cheats for those guessing games bahaha!
