Final Fantasy VII Extraction Help

Post by GhettoBeta59 » Sat Jul 09, 2011 2:45 am

I don't think this will post in the PSX Loading section so I decided to post it here.

I've been starting to extract movies from PSX games (.str's and such from various PSX discs using PSmplay) and I finally found the Final Fantasy VII opening scene. The scene has sound but no music (like all the scenes in Final Fantasy VII). I was wondering if anyone knows why this is like that. Thanks.

Most likely because the music was a separate file. Basically it's easier to create the sound file of a person talking and then have a separate sound file of music and then program them to play at the same time. It'd be much more difficult to balance the sound of a person and the sound of the music if they were all one file.

@Sunshine7
I think I found the problem, the music is a .psf file. They are separate, thanks for the info.
