Help please! Windows 7 probs

Post by SunnyAutumn »

Hey guys!
So, lately, I've installed Win 7 and some games began to lag. Left 4 Dead 2 lags even on the lowest with 1024 x 768, CS 1.6 lags even on 1024 x 768...
What is wrong? Before, when i had Vista, I could play borderlands, CS:S, Garry's Mod, Left 4 Dead, COD4 without any lags on Medium reqs. Any ideas?
FYI, I've had overheating issues and I had to buy a cooler-pad for my laptop. Maybe, broken vents are causing this?

Yeah probably. I remember our PC dropping from 200+ FPS to 15 because of broken GPU fan.

Try changing priority of the game by going in task manager and selecting process tab and then changing the priority of the game by right clicking the game and changing priority to high.If this does not resolves your problem then search for latest drivers for your graphic card and also install latest directx(ATM v11) ;)

Hey there

i also had the same problem :D :D ,,but i got it conformed from microsoft, its not the problem of coolling system or windows vista it's the laptop and its configurations,,,,,mostly for playing a game on vista or win7 than xp requirs more ram and cpu speed and trust me laptops except the cool *** gaming laptops like ALIEAN WARE   are only capable to run games properly although some games will run smoothly adn some will look like you are roaming in graveyard......

example gta4-it requirs 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 or equivalent
1GB RAM (1.5GB for Vista)
16GB HDD Space
256MB nVidia 7900, ATi X1900 or equivalent
DVD-ROM Drive

and i had more than maximum require ments-win7,3.30Ghz core2 duo,GeForce GT 240 nVidian 1 gig and 3 gig ram
a assembled dell studio but still it lagged adn *** my 30 dollars :x :x

so dont play any latest mainly rock star games or high end graphic games on laptops laptops are only for working or multimedia nt for gaming except ALIEAN WARE[[

and over HEATING can cause some slaw down and only some cvlitches not a serious lag and it only happens when your system is heated untill you fry an ommlett on it joke :D :D :D NJOY PLAYING LEFT4 DEAD

Most laptops/mobile chipsets are the same way.

My laptop, HP-G60 with Windows 7 Home Premium and an Intel GM-something-or-other graphics will always get a few more fps if I set the resolution to native.
