i thought i had replied to this topic, but i guess not anyway, here are my top 5:

1. final fantasy x (i <3 many ff games)
2. legend of zelda: a link to the past
3. gta: san andreas
4. resident evil 2 (although its difficult choosing only one)
5. legacy of kain: soul reaver

honorable mention: all ff games, resident evil 1, legend of zelda: oot, pokemon blue, age of empires, starcraft. this was a difficult decision

Got it.. These are the classics old timers.. Don't laugh at me,... but, I got my brick game (my 1st console) in 2000 (so far as I remember) when you and most others were playing with N64, PS1 and other stuffs.. So obviously I never had those consoles and as such never played those games (apart from chess)..

From brick game I directly jumped to PC gaming around 2002, so you can understand my inspirations. I bought my PSP this January. (to be portable )

Not all of them are old. You don't know they exist because they get not as much marketing as GTA for example (which I bet you never played the original one ).

Ok, but for me consoles do not stand against PCs. PCs offer way more variety and lower prices. They're open platforms, you don't need to pay anyone to make games (or anything) for it

Yep, you got that right. My first GTA was GTA III, that too on PC. Later played II. And now I think if I play GTA 1 also, I will not like it. And totally agree with your view regarding PC games. I lived most of my gaming life playing games on PCs. Though I played games on PS2,3 or on XBox, and now PSP, my heart still goes for PC.

I know that rock band and plants vs zombies are pretty old but I still like them.

I know them all and played them all.

Plants vs Zombies is not that old (even if it looks old). You missed Elder Scrolls I & II, which are great too. I remember all the time I've wasted with Daggerfall (ES2) (and its ignominous bugs as well ).
