Yes, it is feasible. Best of all, no need to solder, or at least nothing major. I have taken measures 18x18x18 cm, so there is enough space to work, but it's possible to make them smaller.
Note that I have not yet put the USB ports, soon I will design chips and lay it inside to see how much space to spare. I have also omitted the hole hard drive / ethernet card, but it is possible to add it.

I haven't knowledge about casing. It's the first hardmod I do with one, the rest have been outdoors.
