how to play a game on consoles:
- buy (or download) the game
- insert game
- play

how to play a game on PC
- buy (or download) game
- insert game
- install game, have a cup of coffee while it does as it's gonna take a while
- windows may fail with BSoD, or any other error, in which case, repeat step two
- start game
- realize game settings are either too high or too low for computer, never will it be correct
- open options, play with settings
- in case settings are hard to understand, or you don't know what works best for your machine (happens always), use trial and error
- once game is at optimum settings, play it
- pray that microsoft doesn't release a bulky version of windows (which they almost always do) that messes up with your game's overall performance
- pray that background apps like antivirus (which are needed in windows) doesn't mess with the game's overall performance nor it stops the game from being executed altogether
- in case somehow the game's installation messes up, or the hardware/other components crash, repeat step two

Lol that was hilarious yet so true. Not to mention that different operating systems ends up messing with compatibility of games making it more work to get working (windows 8) :(

While a lot of this is true:
1: Antivirus (If you know what you're doing, of course) Isn't needed.
2: Windows 8 performs faster for me for some reason. Seems somewhat less bulky in my opinion.
3: Compatibility isn't exactly the best, but half the time, people release patches for incompatible programs. (Although sometimes, not perfect) Virtual PC 2007, for instance.
Now I'm not saying I disagree on most of those points, It's just some that irritate me.

it was created with tablets in mind (which are less powerful than PCs) so they were forced to make it faster and less bulky.
But make no mistake, windows WILL get bulky as time passes by cause:
- unwanted apps get installed without your permission when you install a wanted app
- some apps you install automatically make windows launch them on boot and make it hard for you to change this
- the registry gets overly bloated as some items stay in there even if you uninstall the app that placed them there
XxGodOfWar2xX wrote:1: Antivirus (If you know what you're doing, of course) Isn't needed.
not having an antivirus facilitates the above mentioned, so it's either have an antivirus sucking up computer resources or having apps freely roam around your computer doing whatever they want

I realize this, but again, I'll restate.
(If you know what you're doing, you don't need it.)
