I think that`s because all of the game developers usually want the same thing within their games. Thus it sorta mimics everyone else. This is also helpful for multiconsole game developers at the very least.jc_gargma wrote:I'm sure Sony can manage some extra "software" in their PS4 to even that out. Anyways, its not like last gen they were much different either. They both pretty much did all the same things.
How do you think the next Xbox will turn out?

If you got nothing to add to the thread/argument then don`t bash on someone`s sentences like an English teacher. Some of us were not born in an English speaking country.

Both the PS4 and the Xbox One (terrible name, MS) are pretty much gaming PCs being called consoles.
An open and standardized SDK would help this way more than unified hardware. Which brings me to another point: if what you claim is true, why bother with consoles at all?mushra wrote:I think that`s because all of the game developers usually want the same thing within their games. It doesn't even have backwards compatibility like the PS4....
Re: How do you think the next Xbox will turn out?
The PS4 doesn't have backward compatibility. You'll have to repurchase PS3 games over Gakai streaming.
For what it's worth, Microsoft is not winning me over this generation. Even the controller, which I should like (big hands), is weird to me with its force feedback triggers. Why would I want my buttons to vibrate?

Also cannot control DVR functions so still gonna have to use the other remote for that. Plus XB1's tv box is sold separately along with using those old IR blasters to control your cable box. Not being considered outside the US at the moment either.jc_gargma wrote:They'll need to partner with regional TV providers, or the whole purpose of being a TV tuner is going to be a rather moot feature, since satellite and digital TV providers require proprietary signal hardware. Downside being if they do, it'll end up as a carrier-locked device like a 3g Vita.
Should be good for basic cable though at the very least.

don't even ask. There was a huge debate about getting vibration on the PSV, you don't even want to know whyTStrauss wrote:The PS4 doesn't have backward compatibility. You'll have to repurchase PS3 games over Gakai streaming.

I'm sure they already have, they're just waiting to reveal who it's with later on. For sure it includes Comcast and similarly giant cable companies. It sure would be nice to use it as a cable box, but it's not even close to being a selling point for me and many others. They're whole focus on tv/movie entertainment is putting me off until they show some good games. It all rests on E3, but if I had to base a decision right now (which I won't) I'd say PS4>Xbox One.jc_gargma wrote:They'll need to partner with regional TV providers, or the whole purpose of being a TV tuner is going to be a rather moot feature, since satellite and digital TV providers require proprietary signal hardware. I find it amazing how much TV people in the US seem to watch. I haven't watched any for a few years now. See how much I care about the One's TV "capabilities"?

I really can't believe that Sony hasn't even so far even tried to beat that, heck they could even implement glasses-less 3d on the Vita or maybe make an accessory for it.VitaGenic wrote:One word guys: ILLUMIROOM!!!!
