Using HBL menus as a homebrew for the HEN

Post by Xaikiri » Fri Dec 17, 2010 11:51 pm

I don't want to see my homebrews in the xmb since it will be full of isos ^^. Is it possible to use wMenu as an app that will get me to my homebrew folders and play?

Put all of your homebrews somewhere else. Not in the ~/PSP/GAME directory. Then you won't see any of your homebrews in the XMB.
I'm not sure this will work though but, I'll' test it now. It works!

I don't think this would work because the HBL menu's are meant to be run off HBL, since they all use the API. Therefore it will not work with the Hen.

However, some modifications can be made to allow this to work. Unfortunately though, menu's like wMenu are closed source, so no go there. But the simple standard menu that comes off Mr. X's builds have source codes available. :)

EDIT: ^^

He means using it through the Hen, it's in the title.
Thank you Total_Noob

He could run hbl after enabling hen to run his homebrews, couldn't he?

Yes, it wouldn't work because the menu's depend on an API that HBL passes to them, and the new API will be the same way. It wouldn't be too hard to make a menu that would work though I'm pretty sure.

Like waratte said though, you could always just run patapon2 again and run HBL the normal way after using the HEN

Either way, I'm sure the categories plugin will be ported to TN's HEN, then you won't have to worry as much :P
