HBL 1 Year anniversary

Post by Lorz » Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:56 am

We are quickly approaching the 1 year anniversary of the Patapon 2 demo exploit and the beginning of HBL.
For many of us, HBL opened up the world of homebrew long before TN's kernal exploit ever came along.

I think this occassion is definatly worth remembering and celebrating, even though many of us no longer use HBL, we still look to wololo.net as a valuable and trusted source of information..... it's always the first PSP site i check when i'm looking for news, and the site that my browser stays fixed on most of the day.

Wololo and m0skit0 and everyone else involved with HBL deserve our graditude and appreciation....... and i think we should all try to come up with an event of some kind as an honor and a tribute to HBL so close to it's 1st anniversary.

You're right. We should come up with something nice. I've been using HBL since it first released, I was really thankful because I had A PSP 3000, and updated to 6.20 from 5.03.
I thought there would be no hope, I waited for 2 years and this came out! It was kinda fun seeing how HBL improved from playing just Pong (If I remember correctly), to playing Emulators, most Homebrew games and Apps, and having perfect syscalls. I loved how people suddenly started releasing their exploits, I bet it *** Sony alot. Anyways, thanks to all HBL developers, testers, we achieved this. Thank you so much! :D

frilly, hbl may have been known about behind closed doors before then.... but it didn't go public until march 29th....... they didn't yet have an exploit for it at the time so there was no way for them to release it.

I still think it would do us all well to show a little appreciation(and frilly quit trying to wriggle out of it) on the anniversary of HBL's release.
I wasn't asking to be corrected, i was asking for ideas of some event we could hold to celebrate the occasion.

and holycow... that "mini era" has been the most resilient era in all of PSP hacking......nothing works in as many OFWs as HBL does.

heh no... you might not know this.... but if not for HBL, there would not be 6.30, 6.31, 6.35, 6.36, 6.37 OFWs...... all of those were released in response to HBL.... but whenever they would patch to prevent HBL from running, someone would find another exploit and have it running again..... in the case of 6.35, the very same day the 6.35 update was released to patch against hbl, someone cracked it and had hbl running on it the very same day, even 6.37 could not stop HBL.

Wow, hbl is that powerful.. I wonder if they're going to make it in NGP, not that it won't be pointless but Sony's too greedy that exploits are to be needed again.

eeeeeenyway I'm thinking maybe like an HBL CXMB theme(which could be awesome.... maybe could be made to look and sound just like HBL)

and on March 29th everyone runs ONLY HBL instead of our fancy Hens and CFWs.... bonus points for running unsigned patapon demo exploit HBL.

what does everyone think?
