There is no NEED!!!! Just place the game you downloaded into the GAME folder on the PSP!

I havn't tried it yet so I don't know about the hbl and h.bin but if there is just put that in the root of the memory stick!

I Think I can Help!!!! I have had the hardest time learning all this stuff about the psp. Placing files in the "ROOT directory" means....

>MY COMPUTER_
>click on your psp to open the memory stick)-(now you should see something like-- MLN_ROOT, MP_ROOT, MUSIC, PICTURE, PSP, and VIDEO folders)
>RIGHT HERE!!! This is where you stick the files that are meant to be put in the root of the memory stick!
>YES right alongside all the other folders: MLN_ROOT, MP_ROOT, MUSIC, PICTURE, PSP, and VIDEO

>Place the hbl and h.bin right next to the other folders when you first open the memory stick.

>Now for that psp file that still needs to be transferred....
>Open the PSP folder >game file> (CLICK AND DRAG THE -HBL- file) over to your memory stick>PSP>GAME>(Right here)

Let me know if this doesn't work. My problem was that i was placing the root files in the MLN_ROOT and MP_ROOT folders as you are prob. doing.
