Loading PSX games take me to an inescapable home menu

Hello. I just got a PSP cable and tried many of the later custom firmwares (Pro C2 fix, Pro C1, Pro B10 fix, LME), but every single one of them will not only refuse to boot of the VSH menu when select is pressed, but more importantly every PSX game I load only takes me automatically to the PSX home menu without even loading the PSX logo screen. There, none of the buttons do anything except for the up and down buttons. This happens every time I try to load a PSX eboot from my PSP ever since I uninstalled from the Pro C2 firmware, which simply boots me back to the PSP XMB menu with an error message every time I try to load a PSX eboot. Every other firmware I've tried since then gave me the inescapable home menu.

I'm using the PSP 2000.
