6.20 TN-D - The PSX Compatibility List

Posted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:32 pm
by t0meh
Ok so, yes there are already a number of threads that approach compatibility of PSX games on the PSP through TN-D. Unfortunately a lot of them I can already predict will end up 30+ pages long with loads of repeated games and it's just going to take ages to sift through, so I thought I'd make a list to compile everybody's findings. Any results you post on here, I'll edit my original post to continue amending the list.

***Disc speed is always by default 'normal' unless otherwise stated.***

All games I have personally tested have been tested to the point of playing at least a few levels or progressing gradually through story-lines, I'm continuing to test the ones I have tested to make sure they continue to run smoothly throughout.

***All single eBoots unless otherwise stated.***

***Model numbers are shown to inform you which type of system the game has been tested on.***

***No plugins applicable unless stated.***

***If software for conversion is known, it's stated in Bold.***

If you test a game and it's working, and I have it in here on this thread as not-working, try and explain if there was anything different you did to get it working, which model your PSP is that you're testing it on, which conversion software you used & and I'll more than likely put it into the working section - so we can try and get a fairly accurate thread going on compatibility.
Obviously results will differ depending on a lot of factors, but it's just a rough outline of what's working well and what isn't :)

Thanks to TN for this HEN & all of your contributions to the list, keep 'em comin'... :)

Chrono Cross partly working with occasional crashes using SCUS-94640 as the game id and splitting the discs into separate boots. No real way to move from disc 1 to disc 2 without saving right before the swap and copying your save to a PS3, then copying it back after you get to disc 2. Tested on 3001 4g.

Crash Bandicoot - Working
Crash Bandicoot 2 - Working
Crash Bandicoot 3 - Working (it has a keys.bin but works without it, so i'm guessing it was some kind of hack for old CFW and has modded icon & pic so... no PSN official)
<-- also PSN version works but it goes to "exit game" screen every 2 minutes or less list it under "part working" if u will
Dino Crisis 2 - Working
Final Fantasy 9 (PSN) - Working
Hercules - Working
Metal Gear Solid (PSN) - Working
Silent Hill (PSN) - Working

Resident Evil 3 (modded by some ***) - Not working (i'm guessing that it's because it was a modded version with menus and full of ****)

Bushido Blade 2
Rising Zan The Samurai Gunman(Sound will occasionally pop at times)

Used PSX2PSP for all of them.

Should probably add the conversion software used.
PSX2PSP, Red Squirrel, ZiNgABuRgA's.
These could potentially yield different results.

can you add Persona 2 Innocent Sin (english translation) to the "partly working" list? There are three distinct ways to rip the disc before you apply the patch, and only one doesn't FREAK THE **** OUT during the save/load process.

Can't argue with you there, I've made efforts to include which software is used - thanks.

Updated.
