Is there a Tutorial on how to remove files from an ISO/CSO?
Hi there, I have a couple games that I want to remove excessive files from. Is there a tutorial or guide on how to do this? AKA, from monster hunter: I want to remove the kitchen scene and the trenya boat scene.

You need UMD GEN. Just google it.
With this, you can remove unneeded files from your ISOs

Use UMDGen v4.00 and click on the "UMD Properties" tab. You will see on the bottom left it will say "Optimize". Click it and then save the .iso as a .cso or back to .iso if you wish to do so. You can also access the .iso's/.cso's contents and dummy/delete stuff manually if you know what to look for.
I approach it manually and sometimes dummy/delete any padding, UPDATE folder (PARAM.SFO, EBOOT.BIN, DATA.BIN.) and some files in SYSDIR (BOOT.BIN, OPNSSMP.BIN). Never dummy/delete EBOOT.BIN inside SYSDIR. Also, some games will not work if the UPDATE folder or SYSDIR has been messed around with so you'll have to experiment. For example, Ikki Tousen Xross Impact will not run if any of the SYSDIR files have been removed or dummied and the UPDATE folder has been removed or dummied, so you have no choice but to leave it there to be able to play this game.

Other example are ones that require an unaltered OPNSSMP.BIN, such as Disgaea 2.Casavult wrote:I approach it manually and sometimes dummy/delete any padding, UPDATE folder (PARAM.SFO, EBOOT.BIN, DATA.BIN.) and some files in SYSDIR (BOOT.BIN, OPNSSMP.BIN). Class of Heroes is ultra finicky, and cannot have anything removed. Even removing the padding causes it to fail.
