MagicSave 3.62 English w/Tutorial [Fix corrupted Savedata]

Postby Kazuhira7 » Fri Jul 29, 2011 5:07 pm

NOTE I have posted this exact tutorial in another "famous" forum as L3onardo07. Just to clarify, I'm not the kind that copies and pastes other ppls work/tutorials. This plugin has been availabe in english for quite a while now. The reason nobody knows is because ppl in charge of sharing it in forums keep posting Japanese screenshots. v3.62 has an English translation also... the English version is about 40 kb, while the original is 100 kb.

MagicSave 3.62 [Fix corrupted Savedata]

Download MagicSave 3.62 ---> http://www.mediafire.com/?t232f2nzrn3mlz6
v 3.5 ---> http://www.mediafire.com/?6rz10osz3mzzr6l
Copy the contents of ms0 to your memory stick. Reset PSP for plugin to take effect.

Basic Controls
Pressing (-) & (+) at the same time brings up MagicSave in the game.
■ = select, ▲= back
You can change the configuration with ms0:/MagicSave/Config/default.ini

NOTE
This is for corrupted savedata issue, which is happens when saving
a game in an older firmware and then trying to load it in a 6.XX firmware.
Your savedata is not corrupted, it's just not in the format that your current
firmware wants it to be. You might fix this with MagicSave 3.5, but I don't guarantee anything

1) Apparently my savedata is corrupted

2) Press (-) & (+) at the same time to bring up the MagicSave menu
screen and go to Save Data

Image

3) Go to Read Invalid Data
Image

4) Check the box next to Invalid Data and change
SFO File and Decrypt. Type 2 for both usually works for me, you can try something
else if it doesn't work for you. Keep pressing Triangle to exit MagicSave.

5) Viola! Now you can go back to MagicSave to
disable Read Invalid Data and save your game to avoid doing this again

If you want to do this before the game attempts to load a sysdata, in
default.ini change Menu_Stop_Other to True. This way you can pause
the game before it tries loading system data.

Usually system data is also updated every time you save your progress
in a game. If not, keep using MagicSave 3.5 to load system data.

Happy to say this also makes JPCSP saves(crypto mode) compatible to PSP. SFO type 2.

I would say yes, thats pretty much the reason for the fix. Updating from GEN to 6.xx, but you need working savegames.
