I recently bought a PSP go that came with 6.61 OFW which is fine by me, since I'm a fan of latest system versions + hacks.
So I installed Pro CFW and everything went well with games and plugins as long as I kept them on ef0:/.
The real fun began when I received my 16 GB M2 yesterday. Here are a few things I noticed while playing around with that setup:
1) When TempAR is on ef0:/ and the game I'm trying to launch is on ms0:/ -> the plugin doesn't work ??
2) DLC on ef0:/ isn't recognised by games launched from ms0:/ -> anyone can confirm?
3) Categories light has some major issues with the whole ms0:/ ef0:/ stuff. When launched from ef0:/ it completly blocks ef0:/ from the entire system, with no configuration I can get it to show the internal storage.
When launched from ms0:/ tho I can get it to show both devices, but it freezes once I try to access the internal storage.
Even after a reboot the PSP freezes while loading the XMB.
I tried to look for this problem (and solutions), but this seems to be plugin dependent rather than the location you launch the plugin from?
Coldbird had this to say about the whole stuff:
viewtopic.php?p=142854#p142854
Which somehow doesn't help in my situation since in VSH ms0:/ and ef0:/ should both be visible to the plugins ? -> so maybe this is a Categories bug rather than the PSPs fault?
In the same thread I saw this info:
viewtopic.php?p=357946#p357946
That's a lot of technical stuff, but it seems to be a solution to all our problems? I haven't tested yet if TempAR will work for games from ef0:/ when launched from ms0:/ ? -> Will report back on this.
So the questions is, what is the thumb rule for plugins executed during Games? Always reside on ms0:/ ? Or ef0:/ ?
And can anyone confirm the same Categories issues that I have? Or is it again all related to handling of storage devices from the PSP?
Thanks,
Mr.iCE
EDIT: Tested now if TempAR started from ms0:/ can be used for games stored on ef0:/ -> doesn't work
So the second post explaining it on a technical level is either wrong or the plugins have to be coded in a way to be able to handle both storage devices.
