I thought with popsloader, your PSP had to be capable of loading that firmware for it to work, ie PSP 3000 launched with 4.20 therefore cannot run pops below 4.20.

In any case I'm going to download popsloader and according to this [Removed by mod] WO3 SE works flawlessly on 3.80.

I can confirm Wipeout 3 Special Edition did not crash after playing through at least 8 courses, using popsloader on 3.80 and CDDA enabler.

It seems an issue of the POPS rather than CDDA enabler then. Just to be sure, do you still get the crash if you play it on the stock firmware (6.60) with both POPSLOADER off and CDDA enabler off? of course you won't get CDDA audio, but just wondering if the crash is there.

No CDDA Enabler
No Popsloader 6.60 = works
Popsloader 6.60/from flash = works

Using CDDA Enabler
Popsloader 3.80 = already proven and documented to be perfect
Popsloader 6.00 = third race, crashed
Popsloader 6.10 = 25 minutes, crashed
Popsloader 6.20 = 25 minutes, crashed
Popsloader 6.60 = first race, crashed
No popsloader 6.60 = menu, crashed

tl;dr 6.00+ with CDDA is problematic

Tested by doing all 8 courses on Venom speed, averaging 20 minutes if done consecutively.
Using 6.60 PRO-C Fix 3, PSP 3000

EDIT: organized the test results

TN
So should I wait for TN-X then, or just better to use the plugin?

PSP go 6.61 PRO-C2 (latest commit), popsloader used is v4g for 6.61

WipEout 3: Special Edition

-pops 3.52, CDDA enabler off = headphone output only, no sound otherwise. The game seems to run faster than the intended speed as well, most noticeable during the countdown at the start of a race (could be due to it being a PAL game, as WipEout 3 NTSC doesn't do this)
-pops 3.52, CDDA enabler on = goes back to the xmb and gives error 80000004
-pops 6.20 to original from flash (6.61), CDDA enabler on = gets the crash that I described
-popsloader and CDDA off = works fine, but the CDDA tracks are absent
-PSP 3000 (03g): 6.61 PRO-C2
-PSP go (05g): 6.61 PRO-C2
-PCH [PS VITA] 1001: OFW 3.XX

after retrying, I can confirm the same crashing issue on my 6.60 pro C2 PSP Go. I also have a preview version of TN-X, a PS1 Loader for Vita. It too has the CDDA enabler patch and this crash doesn't happen on it. Interesting.

You dont need to use this plugin for Wipeout 3 Special Edition. Just use Popsloader 3.11 and the music plays fine without a plugin.
