DS3Remapper 0.3

Post by suloku » Tue Sep 09, 2014 3:02 pm

*UPDATE*

DS3Remapper 0.3: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2qut6 ... er_0.3.zip
- Changelog:

[+] 0.3 (12 nov 2014):
- Added game ID based configuration file loading.
- You can map buttons to the analog sticks and still preserve the analog stick movement.
- Added a configurable disable remaps button combination (DISABLECOMBO)

Known bugs:
+ The DISABLECOMBO isn't working even when changing the combo in the config file. The default combo is always used.
+ Newly created configuration files are created with a corrupted first line (DISABLECOMBO). Other than that they work fine.
+ Not compatible with all games.
+ Some games (currently only Locoroco is known) work partially (button remapping work, but right analog not recognized).

- Flag usage: there are two different flags that can be used. These flags are simple 0 byte files that are put under ef0:/seplugins/DS3Remapper.
* DS3Rnopergame: when this flag is present, DS3Remapper.ini will allways be used.
* DS3Rnocreate: when this flag is present, DS3Remapper won't automatically create ini files for games that don't have it (thus this flag only works if DS3Rnopergame is *not* present).

note: keep in mind that the vast majority of homebrew uses the following ID: UCJS10041. You can change it editing the eboot.pbp 's param.sfo.

Code: Select all

As a result of this thread Total-Noob coded a plugin that allowed access to the dualshock 3 buttons. I grabbed his plugin and turned it into a remapper plugin with configuration file using INI Library Portable by Hiroi01.

The most interesting functions are mapping the digital pad or the triangle/circle/cross/square buttons to the right analog stick (no more clawing!).

Here's 0.2 (source included):

There still seems to be some issues with japanesse games; I don't have much time for testing.

here is a list some cool guy prepared for right analog stick recommendations:

Code: Select all

http://psvitaforum.com/threads/list-of-psp-games-utilizing-vitas-second-stick.7864/
it is for vita but they can be used on psp go too. plus it is even possible to map right stick to L trigger + left stick which vita cannot do.

Ok, I read the ReadMe but it doesn't really make a lot of sense to me inside the ini file. Can someone tell me how to remap the d-pad to the right analog on the Vita for Lord of Arcana? I'm sure it will affect every game but thats fine.

make "DIGITAL2RA = false" "DIGITAL2RA = true" in the .ini file. but that is for psp go with dualshock 3. on vita just go to options in a psp game via holding the PS button you will see right analog stick remaps there.

As the name implies, the plugin is spesifically for making use of full Dualshock 3 buttons and remapping them. Remapping psp buttons might work with other psp models too, i haven't tried. there are other plugins for remapping buttons like macrofire.

EDIT: I was planning to play Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and saw that PS2 and PSP control scheme really differs and PS2 control scheme is superior. so as we have 4 shoulder buttons and 2 analogs now, i remapped psp control scheme to ps2 control scheme. it is game spesific and useful for only and only Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters. here it is :

https://www.sendspace.com/file/up2rty

(only main.c and plugin is provided, for makefile and rest of the source refer to the links in the first post, right analog stick remap code taken from suloku, all credits go to suloku and Total-Noob.)

as it is based on the first version TN posted, your psp buttons will not work, only DS3 will work, i recommend enabling the plugin only for GAME.

here are the control schemes for psp and ps2 (go to controls section): http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/944300-ratc ... faqs/53153

you won't have to press both triggers for crouch now, R1 will do the job just like PS2, and that makes a lot of actions easier including highjump, long jump and wrench throw. camera control on the right analog stick and strafing via R2 and L2 are great too. even though d-pad strafing isn't possible on PS2, i haven't disabled it, so strafe any way you want on your DS3, d-pad or R2,L2.

have fun and requests are allowed if you can't do it yourselves.

hi, I have tested this plugin with resistance retribution (only TCCS2RA = true) and it works great but when i try to start Final Fantasty Type 0 english translated (only DIGITAL2RA = true) the controller doesn't work and allow me only to exit from game by pressing home button (it works fine in vsh).

A question: is possible to set the right analog stick as digital pad by default in the vsh? i need to use the right analog stick remapped for cross, square, triangle and circle in psp game but i prefer use analog stick in the xmb instead of digital button. Maybe it possible with 2 different configuration file, one for vsh and one for game..

Also a nice addition would be to add in the configuration file a game specific configuration: most games need TCCS2RA = true, but a few games need DIGITAL2RA = true so if it possible to include this exception in the config (maybe including title id from param.sfo and add to the plugin the ability to read the title id).

Sorry 4 my frankestein-engrish
