[TUT] Make a Simple Theme "CTF"

In these TUT it teach how to change the Color/RGB on you theme it pretty basic and simple to do
Things you need:
PTF file "any will do or download the attachment"
CTFTool "latest one"
You can also can do these TUT w/ 6.60 CFW but you need a decrypted rco and prx
can be downloaded here

Step One
Creating Folder for the CTF
[spoiler]1. Create a folder right click on your mouse and select new FOLDER and rename it to whatever you like

2. Open a the folder you created and create a new Folder and rename to

vsh
the First Folder you created place a the PTF file here

3. Open VSH Folder and create 2 Folders rename it to

Code: Select all

module and resource
4. Go to CTFTool Folder and open BASE Folder select your PSP FW and look for PAF.prx and VSH.prx Files and COPY it "NOT CUT"

5. Open Module Folder and place PAF.PRX and VSH.PRX files here you copy

6. Go back to CTFTool Folder and open BASE Folder select your PSP FW for RCO file you wanted to EDIT "look at RCO List"
example if your on 6.20 CFW open 620 folder
7. Open Resource Folder and Paste the RCO Files Here

8. Now that you have everything is setup and you wanted to EDIT "Lets proceed of editing"[/spoiler]

Step two
Editing RCO Files
[spoiler]1. Right Click on RCO Files you wanted to Edit and Select CTFToolMenu at the Top Select Dump "name of the RCO" with Rcomage "English/Chinese"

2. Once it done Dumping open the Folder and open/edit "i have to edit because Internet Explorer will open XML file the XML Files" "name of RCO.xml"

3. Once you open the XML press CTRL + F to find these "look at color example below"
Look/Find these

Code: Select all

redScale="1" greenScale="1" blueScale="1"
^for Font/Text & ICONS "Warning[color] if you change these color it will apply to Font/Text and Icons"

Code: Select all

topRed="1" topGreen="1" topBlue="1" bottomRed="1" bottomGreen="1" bottomBlue="1"
^for Font/Text Only and can be use for making it cool "like Font/Text bottom/shadow can be light/dark and Font/Text top can dark/light"
example
as you can see it went from dark to light or light to black its just like gradient "kinda"

4. now that you select/change the color you wanted "to make way Faster look for EDIT its right next to FILES and Select Replace or CTRL + H "for Windows XP"

5. Menu should pop out on Find What: paste these

topRed="1" topGreen="1" topBlue="1" bottomRed="1" bottomGreen="1" bottomBlue="1"
on Replace What: replace the one you created

6. Once it done Replacing RedScale or topRed etc. Save it go back to Folder Right Click Select CTFTool Menu and look for Pack "Name of the RCO" to rco with Rcomage

7. Once it say Success you pretty much did everything right if not a message should pop out saying all the name

8. Do these with all of the RCO Files you wanted to edited you be done in less than 30min.[/spoiler]

Resizing the XMB Icons & Clock Font/Text
For XMB ICONS
1. Open topmenu_plugin with RCO Editor or simply double click on it

2. Once RCO Editor has been open "you should be on General Resource" Select Page Data and Look for

Code: Select all

T @0xXXXX
XXXX is the Number for example 0x1234
Click on T @0xXXXX, on the right side look for Stretch: here you should see a default number on W and H

Code: Select all

W = Width and H = Height
W:1 and H:1 "change these Number to Something like these
W: 0.90 and H: 0.90
"it has to has 0.X if you want the icon look smaller like i have on the prev pic"
"If you want to go bigger all you have to do is increase the number again to increase simply 1.10
Increase or Bigger Icons = 1.XX
Decrease or Smaller Icons = 0.XX
3. ALWAYS REMEMBER to Press/Click the SET Bottom once you Click on SET close and try it out
For Date and Time Font/Text
1. Open system_plugin_fg.rco

2. Head to Page Data and look for clock @ 0xXXX

3. Stretch: and start changing the number
its pretty much the same thing as Editing the topmenu_plugins

"quick note: I'm not expert on PRX Files just sharing for Noobs" :D
How to change Font Font/Text color on XMB
1. Open PAF or simply double click

2. Once it open PRXeditor, scroll down and look for Description they are two of them just edit the last one

Code: Select all

Alpha of Color of All Menu Text (0=black) 1
Colors: 0 = Black, 1 =White, -0.3 Teal "look at the RGB Color"
some people say you can only change Color from black-white but i manage to find Teal Color
3. Look at the Bottom and Click Save to prx "just wait a message should say at the top Scrambling paf.prx" once say success your done
Smooth Scroll
1. Open PAF.prx and look for the Description

Code: Select all

Scroll Speed Up, Down, Left, and Right
Just increase the Value you like "try increasing the number by 100 or 50 until you got what you wanted"
Text Size on XMB
1. Open PAF.prx and look for the Description

Code: Select all

Text size above the line 8.19
start changing the Value "if you want smaller text Decreased the Value, Bigger text Increase Value"

How to make 6.60 to work on CTFTool_GUI
Download: My 6.60 Folder
Add these to Base Folder "if you don't know wheres the Base Folder is, it should be wherever your CTFTools is" to test it out open CTFTool_GUI and look for Versions: and select 6.60 you can now Create 6.60 CTF Theme "NOT Convert"

How to Convert 6.39 to 6.60
To Convert CTF Themes to 6.60 "there are two ways"
Reminder: Themes "your Converting" MUST BE ON 6.39" if not simply use CTFTool to Convert it to 6.39
One Way & Two Ways:
One Way
1. Extract 6.39 Theme "your trying to convert" just double click the Theme it will CTFTool will extract it for you

2. Open the Extracted Folder and open the Folder called module on the Theme you extract it

3. Highly all PRX Files, Right click on and select CTFTool Menu at the top select Descramble float from selected files to bin

4. Once it done Descrambling all PRX Files to BIN, go to Base Folder and Open 660 Folder and copy the all the prx file you Descramble "must be exact prx files"

5. Create a New Folder and paste all the prx you copy from 660 Folder and all the BIN Files.

6. Highlight all the BIN Files and Right Click all the Highlighted BIN Files, Select CTFTool Menu and at the top select Scramble float from selected files to prx "wait when its done, sometime a message say Fail to scramble Files to prx "something like that" " once it say success, Copy all the PRX Files back to modules folder just overwrite it.

7. Once that's done open CTFTool "make sure your version is on 6.60" just simply Drag and Drop Folder in CTFTool and select Pack "Name of the Theme" to CTF "Third Option" wait when its done a message will say Pack CTF Success.

Here is what you will see when changing the RGB color
impose_plugin - volume bar/avls etc thing that has to do with volumes
msvideo_main_plugin - video option/Help "can change the color icon when your watching a video and then you press triangle options should pop out"
music_browser_plugin - numbers of track and format file
topmenu_plugin - these is for option menu "like the one pop out on xmb"
music_player_plugin - for music option/Help "when you press triangle option pop out
photo_browser_plugin - numbers of pictures you have and format files
photo_player_plugin - photo option/Help
system_plugin_fg - date/hours/battery %
game_plugin - loading icons/option, delete etc.
savedata_plugin -loading icon/option, delete etc.

Nice tutorial! Very easy for newbies to follows! You can add more info on making PTF files and also more info on the PRX files and you'll end up with a whole "How to make a CTF theme" thread :shock:
