Do you have the wrong update EBOOT.PBP. There are 2 versions. 1 for PSPGo and 1 for PSP-1000-3000. Make sure you downloaded the correct update, or if you did try to re-download it. That error is making sure the MD5 matches so there aren't any errors or something wrong with the EBOOT.

Also make sure your PSP can downgrade to 6.20. If you own an 07g/09g you might be getting that error because the MD5's are different for 6.20/6.35. Try the 6.35 Update if that happens.

It's as follows.

1. Grab the correct 6.20/6.35 Update for your PSP Model
2. Place the downgrader @ PSP/GAME/638 Downgrader/
3. Place the Update EBOOT.PBP @ PSP/GAME/UPDATE/
4. Start the 6.38 Downgrader and wait then follow the on screen instructions and start the update
5. You'll get a Blue Screen, Just press O and wait for it to reset the Settings.

to those who are unable to get this work
1)try foematting the memory stick or removing seplugins folder
2)battery should be atleast 80-85%
3)try 6.35 update(rather 6.20)

This may be a stupid or obvious question, and i'm sure it'll be lost amidst other posts, but could someone (or even some1 ;) ) explain why the PSP gets the System Information Is Corrupt BSOD screen after usage? I'm sure i remember it being something to do with flash1 settings in the old days when making big jumps but back then it was something i never remember seeing much.

Why is the BSOD a certainty? And what causes it?

Just FYI :)
Yea, I've said before, it's all in firmware detection, so 6.39 wouldn't work, even if the vuln is still there ;).

Well, it's not out yet, is it?

Hmm, a demo user mode exploit doesn't seem as important anymore, I wonder why... xP

That's great news...but it'll be gone within a week i'm betting unless they're really busy.

Any chance you could give me some insight into my previous question about the BSOD?

the bsod is caused from having a corrupt (or incompatable from downgrading) settings file
