You don't have to worry about the copyright thing, Mario is copyrighted and yet we see many Mario homebrew games, I think this is fine!

Yes but they're not in this competition (where a lot of money is at stake). Legal action could be taken by Square Enix on Shaplayer and possibly on Wololo. (I don't know the specifics about the legal side but I highly doubt that Wololo and NPT will allow this entry into the competition)

It looks awesome though.

FYI, There was a similar issue with a Mario Kart HB. It was rejected from the compo for these very reasons.
Anyway, locking this now per op's wishes.(also to spare the genesis mods the task later. )
